Is there any differences between the American version and the UK version? I notice the American version is more expensive and was wondering if it had more to offer.

The differences between the American and British versions are slight – mainly a matter of spellings, vocabulary, measurements and cultural references.

I love it that you read at a short story festival. That was one of my favorite parts of this book: it was studded with teeny-tiny short stories. I was sadder when the book ended than most of the novels I’ve read in the past 5 years.
